Well, maybe if we lived in a perfect world. Today's snow shoes are abundant in option ranging from just walking on top of the snow all the way to climbing steep pitches of ice. Which option is right for you depends on where you want to travel on your snow shoes. Besides the snow shoes themselves you will also need poles, gaiters, boots, good gloves, and warm clothes. It is also nice to have a good day pack to carry some water, snacks, and a camera in.
