Rock climbing ROCKS! This is one of our favorite sports at the Ashland Outdoor Store, and our passion cannot be misinterpreted for one minute. Accompanying our passion is an outstanding knowledge of the sport, the local climbing crags, and the equipment. If there is something that we don't cover on the website please come in and talk to any one of our staff members and see for yourself. While we don't have all the world renowned climbing directly out our backdoor we do have the birth location of sport climbing in North America, Smith Rocks. Between Smith Rocks to the north and multiple other options for bouldering, sport, and trad climbing that are all within a three hour drive there is plenty of crags to get on, making this area a premier location for climbers. If you're not a climber yet then become one because your missing out! Rock climbing is inherently dangerous. Please be sure to take all proper precautions and safety measures. Do your safety checks, safety knot the end of your rope, plan properly, and always pack a bit of extra equipment, food, and water.
