Rental and Demo Program

Sometimes venturing into the great outdoors requires more gear than you currently have. Other times, you just want to try something new or use different gear. Here at the Ashland Outdoor Store, we rent quality outdoor equipment for just such occasions. From camping to skiing, rentals can be a great way to enhance your outdoor experience.

With the store's new demo ski fleet, we felt it would be great to have a place online to see what new demo and rental gear we have and what you think of it. To accomplish this, we have added a new category about our Demo and Rental gear to our blog. There you can read about the gear we have and rate & comment on the gear you have used! Below is a list of equipment we rent and their prices. At the bottom of the page, our rental policy explains how we rent gear. Be sure to call or come in if you have any questions.

Telemark & Alpine Touring Ski Demos

We rent Black Diamond Alpine Touring and Telemark skis, boots, skins, and poles. Some of our skins are G3. They can be rented individually and as a package including skis, boots, and poles.

We rent Fischer XC and skate skis, boots, and poles. They can be rented individually and as a package including skis, boots, and poles.

Mountaineering Rentals

We rent La Sportiva Mountaineering boots and Black Diamond crampons and ice axes. They can be rented individually or as a package including boots, crampons, and ice axe.

We rent Arc'Teryx Backpacks in short, regular, and tall.

For those rainy trips, we rent backpack covers to help keep you dry.

Tent Rentals

We have 2, 3, and 4 person tents for rent from Sierra Designs, Big Agnes, Black Diamond, and Mountain Hardwear.

Ice Box Rental

The Ice Box is a device for constructing igloos.

Rental Policy

In order to rent gear, we require a credit card and a photo ID. A credit card imprint will be made out for the amount of the rental deposit and kept until the rentals are returned. You will not be charged the deposit as long as the rentals are returned in working order.

To check availability or make a rental reservation, call or come in to the store. Pickups and returns must be made during store hours. Rental rates start when the rentals are picked up and stop when they are returned.

Alpine Touring, Telemark, and Cross Country skis are only rented while Mt. Ashland is open.

Morning pickups are due by 2pm the next day. Evening pickups are due by close the next day. Evening starts at 2pm.
